The Virtue of Abstaining from Sin

Humans reach the rank and station of the beautiful manifestation of God's favors when they abstain from actions, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, words, and anything considered a sin in God's religion and view. A concise narration states:

Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) said: "Our Shi'ah will attain the outcome and beauty of God when they abstain from the sins from which they are forbidden."
(Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 53, p. 177)

• 1. Seeking distance and abstaining from sin causes humans to reach the ultimate good and happiness that God has decreed.
• 2. Performing a strong and developed act of abstaining from sin elevates a person to the rank and station of the manifestation of God’s favors.

• 4. The growth of abstinence from sin and piety is among the highest favors of God, which causes a person to be elevated to the rank of manifesting the beautiful favors of God.
• 5. Humans who reflect the beauties of divine favors are those who carefully, knowingly, and wisely abstain from what is sin, and for this reason, they manifest the beauty of divine favors.
